Directed by Anil Sharma, the highly-anticipated sequel stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma among others.
Set against the backdrop of the ‘Crush India Movement’ of 1971, this time Tara Singh (played by Sunny) is returning to fight Pakistan and rescue his son (Utkarsh). He promises Sakina (Ameesha) that he’ll save him.
Ahead of the big release of Gadar 2, let’s have a look at how much the starcast has been paid.
Sunny Deol:
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, released in 2001, was a massive hit and Sunny Deol was widely praised for his performance. Sourced from a report, Sunny has been apparently been paid to the tune of Rs 20 crores – 30% more than his usual fees which is around Rs 5 – 6 crores – for Gadar 2.
Ameesha Patel:
Ameesha Patel will reprise her role as Sakina in this sequel. As per reports, the actress got paid around Rs 2 crores for the film.
Utkarsh Sharma:
Utkarsh Sharma, son of director Anil Sharma, played the role of Charanjeet Singh in Gadar. He will reprise his role as Tara Singh’s son in Gadar 2, for which he took home Rs 1 crore.
On the other hand, Gaurav Sharma, who plays the role of an army officer, has been reportedly paid Rs 25 lakhs, while Manish Wadhwa‘s fee for playing a Pakistani army officer is Rs 60 lakhs.

In cinemas on 11 August 2023!
The film is set to have a box office clash with Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2.
