Akshay Kumar OMG 2 movie released last weekend and the movie has been doing good at the box office.
Recently the director of OMG 2, Amit Rai revealed that he took the script to big producers like Karan Johar and Ashutosh Govariker but they rejected it.
As per reports, Amit Rai revealed that the script of the movie was ready a long ago but no one believed in it and producers like Karan Johar and Ashutosh Govariker rejected the script. He said, “Do they (Censor Board) know what we go through after the script is rejected? Sony, Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker and others had all rejected it. Finally, Akshay Kumar showed the courage to back it. He was very open to the script and said that the film needs to be.”
The movie has released after facing a lot of hurdles. OMG 2 had a lot of trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after they gave the movie Adults Only certificate with cuts suggestion.
Amit further added that they had to redub a lot of things, and they even removed references to Ujjain and Madhya Pradesh.
In a conversation, Amit further revealed, “They said that I can’t quote Upanishads, but I can quote what is written so they were trapped. Words like Geeta and Yajurved got cut but the content did not.”
Rai mentioned that the experience with the Censor Board was a nightmare for the VFX team, but they still managed to make all the suggested changes within 70 odd hours.
As far as the success of the movie is concerned, they have already entered the 100-crore club in its first week. Other than Akshay Kumar, the movie also stars Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles. The movie was released on the same day as Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 but it is still getting good traction at the box office.
