Alia Bhatt was previously in talks to play Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
However, if the latest reports are to be believed then Alia has walked out of the project. It is supposed to star her husband Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram.
Alia Not In Ramayana Anymore?
As per Pinkvilla’s report, RK is still going ahead with this Ramayana adaptation. But Alia Bhatt has date issues and hence has backed out of the film.
Talking about the role of the antagonist as Raavan – KGF star Yash is in the top contender for the part. While the discussion is mostly positive, Yash is yet to officially come on board. It all hinges upon which project he chooses to do – Ramayana or Geethu Mohandas’ action thriller! Ramayana might go on floors in the middle of the next year.
Alia Bhatt Upcoming Projects –
Alia Bhatt was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and she also made her Hollywood debut with Heart Of Stone. Her upcoming projects include – Jee Le Zaraa with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra with Ranveer Singh.
Another biggie in Alia’s kitty – she is starring in YRF’s first female-lead spy universe movie. If reports are to be believed then she is also headlining Vasan Bala‘s upcoming directorial which is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Vedang Raina, who will make his acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, has come on board to share the screen space with Alia in this yet-untitled project.
On the personal front, Alia ran into controversy after her comment on her husband Ranbir Kapoor went viral. She had revealed that RK makes her ‘wipe off’ her lipstick as he likes her natural lip colour. However, fans did not take kindly to the statement and started heavily criticizing RK’s behaviour!
