Dhadkan 2 in the works? Suniel Shetty, Shilpa Shetty and Akshay Kumar had starred in the hit drama which had released back in 2000.
The makers are at the very initial stages for the sequel allegedly. Director Dharmesh Darshan appears to have tentatively confirmed the development.
Dhadkan 2 Confirmed?
As per Bollywood Hungama, the director revealed that while he has been told to think about Dhadkan 2 since the past 10 years, it is only now that he has seriously started pondering about the idea. The success of Gadar 2 seems to have convinced him to try his hand at this sequel finally.
Dharmesh revealed that – “At this moment, all I can say is that yes, I have been offered Dhadkan 2 by Mr Ratan Jain, who’s also the producer of Dhadkan.I made it clear that I’ll make the film only if we don’t compromise on any front. I have 2-3 ideas with possibilities of interesting and different castings.”
Dhadkan 2 Cast?
When asked if the original trio of Suniel Shetty, Shilpa Shetty and Akshay Kumar will be seen in the 2nd part, he replied that they haven’t reached the casting stage yet.

Made on a modest budget of 9 crores, Dhadkan was a commercial success grossing 26 crore worldwide. Suniel Shetty won the 2001: Filmfare Award for Best Villain for this movie along with the 2001: Zee Cine Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Akshay and Shilpa were dating in real life as well during the film. Apparently, Arbaaz Khan was signed to play the role of Dev, but Suniel Shetty ended up replacing him. Bobby Deol was also offered the film but he turned it down as he didn’t wish to play a villain.
Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar are reuniting again for Welcome 3; Welcome to the Jungle. Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty was recently seen in the slice-of-life movie Sukhee.
