The Archies1st songSunoh was released today. The music video introduces the key characters from Riverdale, featuring Agastya Nanda, Dot., Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda.

Talking about the song, Javed Akhtar said in a statement, “Writing Sunoh was like unlocking a time capsule of the 1960s’ rock and roll era. It’s a musical experience that bridges the past and present, celebrating the enduring essence of this iconic period through melody and lyrics. Being a part of this has allowed me to rediscover the magic of an era that has deeply impacted generations.”

Director Zoya Akhtar commented – “With Sunoh, we wanted to encapsulate the teenage soul of the 60’s. It is a celebration of that era. The song had to evoke simplicity, nostalgia, but also a rebellion and idealism that could resonate with the Gen-Z today. Ankur and The Islanders are rock n’ roll boys at heart, so they nailed it.”
The Archies has been directed by Zoya Akhtar. Zoya also shares the writing credit for the project, along with filmmakers Reema Kagti, and Ayesha Devitre. It is produced by Netflix India, Zoya and Reema’s Tiger Baby, Archie Comics and Graphic India.
The Netflix film stars Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews, torn between his feelings for Betty and Veronica. Khushi Kapoor plays Betty, while Suhana Khanwill be seen as the sassy, rich Veronica Lodge. Vedang Rainafeatures as Reggie Mantle, Aditi ‘Dot’ Saigal as Ethel Muggs, and Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley.
According to the makers, the 1960s-set film explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak and rebellion through the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton. It will take audiences to the fictional hilly town of Riverdale.
