Uorfi Javed FAKE Arrest Video; Mumbai Police Files Complaint

Uorfi Javed arrest video took the internet by storm yesterday.

In the viral video, she was seen taking into custody by two lady constables.

On Friday (3rd November 2023), a video of Uorfi Javed created a stir on social media. The video showed two women dressed as cops taking the social media sensation into police custody allegedly over her outfit.

“Itne chote chote kapde kaun pehenke ghumta hai? (who roams around wearing such a short dress)”

– they were heard saying

Soon after the video went viral, social media users speculated that it could be a video prank or a promotional gimmick.

Uorfi Javed Fake Arrest Video; Mumbai Police Files Complaint:

Later in the day, the Oshiwara Police registered a case against Uorfi and other people seen in the video under sections 171 (fraudulent intent), 419 (cheating by personation), 500 (defamation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The Mumbai Police took to Instagram and issued a statement stating –

“One can’t violate law of the land, for cheap publicity!”

Uorfi Javed also clarified that she wasn’t arrested by the Mumbai Police but the ‘fashion police’. She further revealed that the “arrest” video was for an ad campaign.

Sharing a video on Instagram posing behind bars, Uorfi captioned it –

“Arrested by the fashion police for my fierce fashion game, but nothing can stop me! Excited to announce FREAKIN’ UORFICATION my collection launch with @Freakinsindia.”
