On Tuesday (March 19), Amazon Prime Video released its exciting new release slate of movies and series for 2024 which also includes Shahid Kapoor-starrer Ashwathhama.
Shahid Kapoor New Movie – Ashwathhama: The Saga Continues
Shahid Kapoor is all set to headline Pooja Entertainment’s magnum opus titled, Ashwathhama – The Saga Continues.
Based on the Hindu epic Mahabharata, Shahid will play the role of Ashwathhama – son of Dronacharya who was cursed to live forever with a gaping wound on his forehead by Lord Krishna.
Amazon Prime Video announced the OTT release of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer after its theatrical release. Announcing the same, the streaming giant wrote,
“Ashwatthama, the immortal warrior cursed by his past, must embrace his destined role as a hero, unleashing his true power to defeat the dark forces and restore harmony to the world on the brink of chaos. #Ashwatthama available post-theatrical release. #AreYouReady #PrimeVideoPresents”
The Kabir Singh actor took to Instagram and announced the film. He captioned it, “Myth and reality will blur, as past and present collide, when an ancient legend meets this modern marvel! This is the story of #AshwatthamaTheSagaContinues, the immortal warrior a Magnum Opus you can not miss”
Set in the present era, the film explores the inner psyche of an immortal being, revealing how he perceives the world he has witnessed for thousands of years, as per the press release.
About Ashwathhama: The Saga Continues –
Directed by Sachin B Ravi, the mythological epic will be produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh. The film will be released in 5 languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Shahid will undergo intense physical training to embody the character of Ashwathhama.
