Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are often regarded as one of Bollywood’s most beloved power couples. Their romance began in 2018, and they tied the knot in a private ceremony in April 2022.
Just a few months later, in November, they welcomed their daughter, Raha. Recently, the usually private Ranbir Kapoor opened up and shared several glimpses into his personal life.
During a conversation with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath on his talk show People by WTF, Ranbir Kapoor shared how he first crossed paths with his now-wife, Alia Bhatt, offering a glimpse into their love story.
He recalled meeting Alia for the first time when she was just nine years old during a photo shoot with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and mentioned that their paths continued to cross over the years.
Ranbir revealed that their love story truly took flight—quite literally—on a journey to Tel Aviv. The two were traveling to the city to train with a movement coach for Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji. He shared that their romance sparked on that very flight, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. In his words: “This was in 2018, when we began working on Brahmastra. The first thing we did for the film was fly to Tel Aviv to work with a movement coach. Our romance began on that plane—it just clicked from day one. We started living together immediately. She lived alone, I lived alone.”
During the same conversation, Ranbir spoke fondly of Alia, describing her as a vibrant soul who brings warmth and a sense of home into his life. He expressed deep admiration for her—not just as an actor and artist, but also as a person, daughter, and sister. Ranbir added that one of his greatest joys is coming home to her.
