Kesari Veer Movie Review:

Kesari Veer sets out to tell the inspiring story of Hamirji Gohil, a legendary warrior whose sacrifice deserves cinematic tribute. The subject matter is rich with potential for a gripping historical drama, but unfortunately, the film falls short due to mediocre execution.

Sooraj Pancholi, in the lead role, fails to bring depth or emotion to Hamirji Gohil. His performance is rather monotonous and his expressions remain flat throughout, whether he’s portraying love, anger, or patriotism. The role demands a commanding presence, but Pancholi simply doesn’t rise to the occasion.

On the other hand, Suniel Shetty’s performance veers into a melodramatic pitch. While Akanksha Sharma looks visually appealing, her face seems too modern and feels out of place in a period setting. Sooraj and Akanksha’s chemistry is lacklustre too.

The standout performance comes from Vivek Oberoi as the antagonist Zafar Khan. His portrayal brings a much-needed intensity, even if it heavily resembles Ranveer Singh’s Alauddin Khilji. Among the Kesari Veer cast, Oberoi is the only one who manages to make a lasting impression.

The visual effects are noticeably poor. Scenes meant to feel epic often come across as unintentionally comical.

Ultimately, Kesari Veer had all the right elements to become a memorable film. However, the lack of emotional depth, underwhelming performances, and subpar visuals prevent it from doing justice to its powerful source material. This was a story that truly deserved better.
