Deepika Padukone was initially being considered as the female lead opposite Prabhas in Spirit. But things didn’t go as planned during contract talks. According to reports, Deepika had some clear conditions.
She didn’t want to shoot for more than six hours a day and asked for additional payment if the shoot extended beyond 100 days. There were also rumors that she refused to dub in Telugu. Her fee for the project was reportedly set at ₹40 crore.
While some insiders labeled these conditions as unprofessional, many fans defended Deepika. They pointed out that she is a new mom and is trying to balance her personal and professional life. She gave birth to her daughter, Dua last year.

Bold Content In Spirit? Tripti Dimri Joins Prabhas
Another possible reason for her exit could be the bold content in the film. Spirit is described as an A-rated cop thriller with intense action and some bold sequences. A source told Pinkvilla –
“Apart from the big-scale violent action scenes, Spirit will have some bold sequences too. Sandeep Reddy Vanga wanted to cast an actress who would be comfortable with the sequences written on paper. He has promised a comfortable and professional atmosphere on set to Tripti.”
Apparently, during earlier discussions with Deepika, both she and the director had agreed to tone down some of the bold scenes. Now, it is being speculated that Deepika walked away because she wasn’t fully comfortable with the A-rated content.
With Deepika out of the picture, Tripti Dimri has officially been brought on board as the lead actress. The announcement was made recently, and fans are excited to see her team up with Prabhas.

While Sandeep Reddy Vanga didn’t take any names, many believe his recent outburst on X was aimed at Deepika. He seemed upset about how things were being portrayed publicly.
