“He was always there before everybody. It’s my personal experience as an assistant director — our call times are before the director’s. Hrithik Sir was so punctual, he used to come and sit even before our (ADs) call time.”
Sooraj went on to describe how Hrithik would be on set even when nothing was ready yet.
“This is being crazy about your work. He’d reach way before time, the camera wasn’t set up, the lights weren’t ready, but he was sitting there reading his lines. So that’s something I got to see, and it’s crazy. Now I’m an actor myself and thinking about what he was doing back then, it’s crazy. He was a superstar right from his first film.”

Sooraj also mentioned that while Aishwarya Rai was present too, his responsibilities were mostly focused on Hrithik Roshan.
“Aishwarya ma’am was there too, but I was assigned more to Hrithik Sir than her. Like getting Hrithik Sir’s clothes ready, sending him the script and getting him out of the van, making sure makeup and hair were done, seeing if he was okay, whether he had his lunch.”
It’s clear that these early experiences shaped Sooraj’s own approach to acting and professionalism. Today, he has come a long way from being behind the camera. He is now starring in big-budget historical dramas like Kesari Veer, where he gets to work on massive sets and tell powerful stories.
