This upcoming film is a period love story set in the 1940s, during the time of India’s Partition. The movie delves into the effects of Partition, seen through the eyes of two lovers caught in the chaos of history. It explores how the pain of migration and historical upheaval shaped personal relationships and emotional journeys.

Sharvari-Imtiaz Ali Film Set During Partition
Sharvari plays the young female lead opposite Vedang Raina. The cast also includes Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah. According to a Midday report, the film spans different generations of families, and Imtiaz Ali is in talks with two more actresses for other key roles.
Filming is expected to begin in August 2025, and the movie will hit theatres on Baisakhi in April 2026.
The film also brings together Imtiaz Ali’s celebrated musical team; A.R. Rahman as composer and Irshad Kamil as lyricist. After their memorable collaborations on Rockstar, Tamasha, and Amar Singh Chamkila, this film is expected to feature yet another impactful soundtrack.
