In a heartwarming and super fun chat with Instant Bollywood, Sonakshi let us in on some of their wildest and most beautiful travel memories. From surprise proposals to skydiving and scuba diving, their travel diaries are nothing short of a dream.
Let’s start with the most magical moment. Zaheer’s proposal was not in a fancy hotel or over a candlelit dinner. It happened in Finland, under the mystical glow of the Northern Lights.
Sonakshi shared, “Finland is something you should definitely go for. That was the first time I saw snow. Finland was where Zaheer proposed to me, under the Northern Lights.” How romantic is that?
But that was just one of their unforgettable trips. The couple also flew to Australia for what Sonakshi sweetly called ‘one of our honeymoons’. This was no regular honeymoon. It was packed with thrill and fun.
“We went to Australia for a honeymoon, one of our honeymoons. Both of us are very adventurous. We did a lot of activities. I went skydiving for the first time, which I had sworn I’d never do. But he made me do it. And it was one of the best experiences ever,” she said.
As if skydiving was not enough, Sonakshi also took on the Giant Swing. She explained that it was very close to bungee jumping. “I’m adventurous, but up to a point of smartness. I won’t do crazy things just for the sake of it. I love roller coasters and all of that, but free falling and stuff? Why, man? Why do people do that?” she laughed.

One of the most meaningful experiences for the couple happened underwater. Sonakshi and Zaheer are both certified scuba divers. And there is a beautiful story behind it.
“Both of us got certified together. It was a beautiful experience. I introduced him to diving, and once he did it, he got hooked. Then we did our first course, then an advanced diving course as well together,” she said.
When asked if it felt anything like Hrithik Roshan’s underwater moment in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Sonakshi nodded. “It’s beautiful. It’s a different world. So calm. No sound. Your mind switches off. For me, it’s like meditation. I love diving.”
