Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda is enjoying a major box office success. However, did you know that Ahaan and Aneet were not the first choice for the movie?
As per a reports, Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani were the initial choices for the lead roles in Saiyaara.
The real-life couple, who won hearts with their chemistry in Shershaah, reportedly began dating during the filming of that project. The makers had approached them for Saiyaara, but the talks eventually fell through.
In a recent interview, director Mohit Suri opened up about the casting journey, revealing that he had originally considered established actors for the film. However, producer Aditya Chopra stepped in and suggested a different direction. “This story is about two young people—it won’t work with known faces. Let’s cast fresh talent,” he advised. When Suri questioned who would take such a risk in today’s box office-driven environment, Chopra confidently replied, “I will.” And, as it turns out, that gamble paid off.
Neither the makers of Saiyaara, the lead actors, nor Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani have confirmed the reports regarding the film’s initial casting choices. Interestingly, the Shershaah duo recently embraced parenthood, welcoming their daughter on July 15. On the professional front, Kiara is gearing up for the release of War 2, another YRF production, set to hit theatres on August 14. Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra will next appear in Param Sundari, which was originally slated for release just a day after Saiyaara.
