“I had already learned multitasking because of my father,” Suniel said with quiet pride. And he wasn’t exaggerating. While most people struggle to balance work emails and daily chores, Suniel was already managing multiple roles back in college.
“I was running a restaurant, taking martial arts classes, managing a clothing business with my friend, and attending college too.”

“The Restaurant Made Me the Man I Am” – Suniel Shetty On Never Feeling Ashamed of Hard Work
But for Suniel, it wasn’t just about staying busy. He believes those early days shaped his values, work ethic, and self-respect. Among all his responsibilities, it was the restaurant that taught him the most.
“The restaurant business teaches you how to multitask. It makes you hardworking. Somewhere, it gives you self-respect,” he explained. What stood out most was his humility. Suniel shared how doing every kind of task, big or small, helped build his character.
“You never feel ashamed of any work, whether it’s cleaning tables, opening doors for someone, or anything else,” he said. “So, it prepared me. It made me the man I believe I am.”
That mindset is probably one of the reasons why Suniel Shetty has stood the test of time in Bollywood. He may have all the qualities of a star, but he also carries the grounded confidence of someone who has cleaned tables and run businesses with the same pride.
