Without skipping a beat, she smiled and said, “Love Sonia.”
And honestly? That tracks. It wasn’t just her debut. It was intense, powerful, and the kind of role most actors would think twice about. But Mrunal jumped right in. “It was my first film and it’s really close to my heart,” she shared.
“Some people say, ‘Oh, she just got lucky with that role.’ But when you actually watch those scenes… I just felt like, for a first film, I was decent enough.”

Then, with that signature humility, she added, “I take a lot of pride in it. Not in an arrogant way though.”
“When you grow up in a middle-class family, you think so little of yourself, like, ‘We’re not good enough… we’re not 100%,’” she said. “Even today, when someone says, ‘You looked amazing!’ or ‘That was such a great performance,’ I’m like… really? Are you sure?”
But that’s what makes her so endearing. There’s no diva energy here. Just someone who’s talented, hardworking, and still figuring things out like the rest of us.
