The Ba***ds of Bollywood has sparked major curiosity—not just for being Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, but also for its provocative title.
The strange placement of three asterisks in “Ba**ds” has led fans to wonder: what’s being hidden, and why?

Bobby Deol, Lakshya, and Raghav Juyal recently opened up about this very question. Bobby says that once you watch the show, the meaning behind the title will become clear. “It is its concept, it is the way the show is written. When you watch the show, then when you look at the title and you will understand,” he shared.
Lakshya Lalwani adds that the series’ expansive, layered story made it hard to pin down a title quickly. He explained the process was long, and that the word “Bads” with the aesthetics of the asterisks matches the unique world Aryan has created. The title was deliberately chosen to grab attention, to be memorable.

Raghav Juyal also weighed in, saying the asterisks serve an aesthetic purpose. “They had to fit ‘Bads’ with ‘Bollywood,’ and that’s why they have put asterisk in it,” he said.
Even Manoj Pahwa, one of the cast members, admits he only learned about the official title when it was finally revealed, underlining how secretive the makers were about it.
The series, streaming on Netflix from 18th September, features an ensemble cast including Lakshya Lalwani, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, Gautami Kapoor, and several others. With its sharp satire, drama-comedy blend, and star power cameos, the title’s mystery adds to its buzz—just as the makers intended.
