Saif Ali Khan & Pataudi Family Victory In Bhopal Land Case!
Looks like the Pataudis just scored a real-life royal victory. Saif Ali Khan, along with his mother Sharmila Tagore, sister Soha Ali Khan and other family members, have finally won a long-running legal battle over a prime piece of land in Bhopal.
After years of back-and-forth, a local court has ruled clearly in their favour, bringing much-needed closure to the case.

So, what was the fight all about? The dispute centred on a massive 16.62-acre land parcel in Bhopal’s Nayapura area under Huzur tehsil. Three local residents had filed a civil suit claiming the land belonged to their family. According to them, Bhopal’s last Nawab, Hamidullah Khan, had gifted the property to their father, a lawyer named Ahmed, back in 1936 as a reward for his services during the princely state era.
They argued that their family had stayed on the land for decades, built rooms, hired caretakers and even allowed others to occupy parts of it. Old revenue records were also submitted to support their claim.
But the court was not buying it. The judge stated that there was no solid legal proof to back the claim of a gift. On the other hand, official records clearly showed the land as private property of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi under the 1949 Bhopal Merger Agreement signed with the government.
The court also highlighted an important detail. After a family partition, 12.62 acres of the same land had already been sold by the Pataudi family to a private builder in 1998, well before this case even came up.
For Saif Ali Khan and his family, this verdict is a huge relief and officially closes a very long legal chapter. Legal experts say the ruling could also influence similar disputes linked to Bhopal’s former royal properties. For now, though, the Pataudis can breathe easy. Game, set and royal match won.
