This time, it was singer Neha Kakkar who found herself at the centre of a rumour storm after a an Instagram story set tongues wagging. A few weeks after her song Candy Shop, made with brother Tony Kakkar, received brutal trolling online, Neha shared a post saying she was taking a break from both work and relationships.
“Time to take a break from responsibilities, relationships, work and everything I can think of right now. Not sure if I’ll be back or not. Thank you,” Neha had written on her Insta story.
Naturally, fans panicked. Many immediately assumed the worst and linked it to her marriage with Rohanpreet Singh, thinking there was trouble in the paradise. When Neha deleted the story shortly after, the speculation only grew louder. From theories about online hate affecting her mental health to whispers of a possible divorce, social media had an opinion about everything.

But Neha has now stepped in to clear the air and calm everyone down. Breaking her silence, she clarified that her emotional breakdown had nothing to do with her husband or family. Instead, her frustration was aimed at certain people and broader systemic issues she has been dealing with, not her personal relationships.
Owning up to her mistake, Neha admitted she acted impulsively on social media and realised how quickly things can spiral online. She also requested people to stop dragging her ‘innocent husband’ and ‘sweet family’ into unnecessary gossip.
Her full statement read – “Guys plz don’t drag my Innocent Husband or my Sweetest Family in all this plz! They are the purest people I know and whatever I am today, it’s because of their support! It’s a few other people and the system that I’m upset with. I hope you get it and let my husband and my family stay out of all this and yes I agree I shouldn’t be so emotional when it comes to posting on social media coz media people know very well ke “Rai ka pahaad kaise banaya jaata hai”.
