Who Is Lekha Washington? Meet Imran Khan’s Girlfriend Who Helped Him Heal
Imran Khan recently opened up about his unhealthy marriage with Avantika Malik and how prioritising his mental health changed everything.

Childhood sweethearts who began dating at just 19, Imran and Avantika grew up together before getting married on January 10, 2011. After eight years of marriage, the two separated in 2019. They have an 11-year-old daughter together, Imara.

While working through depression and emotional burnout, Imran realised that staying in a relationship that was not healthy for either of them was holding him back. Stepping away, he says, was necessary to become a better, healthier version of himself.
Enter Lekha Washington.
Imran is now dating actress Lekha Washington, and by his own admission, she has played a crucial role in his healing journey. Speaking about love and recovery, he shared, “To be loved by someone truly gives you strength and heals you.”

Who Is Imran Khan’s Girlfriend Lekha Washington?
So, who exactly is Lekha Washington?
Born on April 30, 1987, Lekha has a mixed heritage and identifies as South Indian, having grown up largely in Tamil Nadu. She studied Fine Arts in Chennai and later trained at the National Institute of Design, specialising in Lifestyle Product Design and Film and Video Communication. Creative through and through, she began her career as a VJ and model before moving into films.
Lekha has appeared in South Indian movies like Jayamkondaan, Vedam and Va, and even made a cameo in Imran’s Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola.
Imran and Lekha Washington first met through a shared social circle, as Lekha was previously in a relationship with one of Imran’s old school friends. Their bond deepened during the COVID lockdown in 2020, about a year and a half after Imran had separated from his ex-wife.
Fast forward to now, the couple lives together in a sea-facing Bandra apartment and recently made a glowing public appearance at a screening of Happy Patel. Calm, creative and grounded, Lekha seems to be the steady presence Imran needed!
