Love is officially in the air and at the box office too. O Romeo, directed by the ever-unpredictable Vishal Bhardwaj, hit theatres on 13 February and kicked off its journey with a solid Day 1 collection of ₹9 crore.

Not bad at all for a moody romance-actioner. Starring Shahid Kapoor in his intense, broody zone and Tripti Dimri bringing quiet fire to the screen, the film has managed to spark curiosity but will need some more fire.
The timing helps. Valentine’s Day is expected to boost footfalls, especially among couples looking for something darker than roses and chocolates. The only party pooper? The IND vs PAK cricket match on Sunday evening, which could steal eyeballs and hamper footfalls.
O Romeo marks much-awaited reunion of Bhardwaj and Shahid after cult favourites Kaminey and Haider. That combo alone brings serious nostalgia points. O Romeo has started on a confident note. The real test now is the weekend.

O Romeo Storyline:
Shahid Kapoor plays Ustara, an unhinged, razor-wielding hitman who wakes up and chooses violence every single day.
Enter Afsha, played by Triptii Dimri, a woman with grief in her eyes and revenge on her mind. She approaches Ustara with a supari after dreaded gangster Jalal (Avinash Tiwary) gets her husband (Vikrant Massey) brutally murdered.
Ustara initially laughs off Afsha’s revenge plan. But somewhere between mockery, murder, and mayhem, he catches feelings. What follows is a twisted love story where a blood-thirsty hitman decides to channel all his unhinged energy into helping Afsha get her revenge. Love blooms and vengeance becomes the ultimate love language!
Our review – O Romeo is stylish, violent, and watchable, but falls short of the storytelling finesse expected from Vishal Bhardwaj.
