Rashmika was just 21 when she got engaged to Rakshit in July 2017. Rakshit was 34, making it a 13-year age gap. Sparks flew while shooting Kirik Party, which also marked Rashmika’s acting debut. Everything looked perfect, until it wasn’t.
In September 2018, the duo called off their engagement. The reported reason was incompatibility. After Kirik Party, Rashmika’s career took off in a big way.

Offers started pouring in and she wanted to fully focus on acting. Reportedly, Rakshit was not on the same page about her career priorities. Different mindsets, different goals, and eventually they decided to part ways respectfully.
Things got messier online. Rashmika faced massive trolling and nasty allegations, including rumours linking her to Vijay during the shoot of Geetha Govindam. Both Rashmika and Rakshit, however, handled the breakup with grace and never spoke ill of each other publicly.
Post-breakup, Rashmika didn’t just bounce back, she soared. From Pushpa to Sita Ramam and Animal, she became a true pan-India star.

And during her healing phase, Vijay Deverakonda stood by her. Rashmika once said, “I was recovering from my breakup with Rakshit Shetty. I needed comfort and care, which I found in Deverakonda. I was struggling to cope up with my emotions, and it was he who lifted my spirits. He was the one who made me understand that there was a different world outside, waiting for me to embrace.”

And now, she’s found her forever in Vijay!
The couple has reportedly picked the super-luxurious ITC Mementos Udaipur for all their wedding celebrations. The fun begins with a cozy mehndi on February 24, followed by haldi and sangeet on February 25, 2026. And then comes the main event, the wedding ceremony on February 26.
