After Janhvi Kapoor’s Exit From Karan Johar’s Talent Agency, He Says Actors Are ‘Insecure, Not Loyal’!

For years, Karan Johar and Dharma Productions were seen as the ultimate launchpad for Bollywood’s star kids. If you were born into the industry and wanted a glossy debut, Dharma was the dream address. But in 2026, that image seems to be cracking, quietly but noticeably.

After Janhvi Kapoor’s Exit From Karan Johar’s Talent Agency, He Says Actors Are ‘Insecure, Not Loyal’!

The biggest eyebrow-raiser is Janhvi Kapoor. One of KJo’s most closely backed protégées, she has reportedly exited Dharma Cornerstone Artists Agency and signed with Collective Artists Network. And while neither side has gone dramatic about it, the timing of Karan’s recent comments has definitely raised eyebrows.

In a candid chat with Sarthak Ahuja, Karan didn’t sugarcoat his experience with talent management.

Calling it a “thankless job,” he bluntly said, “Nobody is really loyal.”

He went on to add, “Every two years, people are shifting from one agency to another because they are so insecure that they feel we are time bound. Nobody is loyal in this business, actors just keep hopping and skipping. So you put two years of your life into a talent and they suddenly move somewhere else and then they don’t like it there and they want to come back to you. This is a vicious circle.”

Karan said he stepped into talent management because it felt natural to him, but admitted it can be draining. For him, the job is less about glamour and more about handling egos and insecurities.

Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “After being in the business for 31 years, I have become zen about success and failure because I feel like my joy and sorrow cannot be the result of my success and failure because then I will be in an ICU.”

Karan Johar’s Last Production – Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Had Flopped

On the work front, Karan’s last production, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, failed to impress at the box office.

So is this the end of Dharma’s golden hold over star kids or just another phase in Bollywood’s ever-dramatic cycle? In this industry, loyalty is complicated, insecurity is real, and even the most powerful players are feeling it!
