Director and producer Subhash Ghai has announced plans for a sequel to the 2004 film Aitraaz, titled Aitraaz 2.
The original film, directed by Abbas-Mustan, starred Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, and Amrish Puri.
Subhash Ghai announced this on his social media, with a bold picture of Priyanka Chopra. He captioned the post, “BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL PRIYANKA CHOPRA DARED N DID IT. That’s why cine lovers can not forget her performance even after 20 years today in #AITRAZ – produced by Mukta arts. When she was too apprehensive to do this role of an ardent ambitious woman, she did it with full confidence. Now MUKTA ARTS is ready for AITRAZ 2 with the finest script after 3 years of hard work. Just wait n watch (sic).”
Internet users reacted to the post positively as one of them wrote, “Cannot wait, this will be iconic.” “Excited for Airtaz 2 Sir,” wrote another user, while many others commented along similar lines.
The cast details of the sequel are yet to be announced. Aitraaz released in 2004.
