Urmila Matondkar, who had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha election as a Congress candidate, recently joined the Shiv Sena.
The actress-turned-politician’s Instagram account was hacked on December 16 and all her posts were deleted!
Urmila had taken to Twitter to share the news and immediately taken action against the cyber crime. She wrote to the Mumbai Cyber Cell and an FIR had been filed against an unidentified person under sections 43,66 and 66 (C) of the Information Technology Act.
Thankfully, the account has now been restored though some of her posts are still missing. The 46-year-old actor thanked Mumbai Police and Instagram for their help.
How Did It Get Hacked?
“I had received a direct message on my account and when I clicked it to open, it took me to the website and asked me to follow certain steps and pursuant to that they ask for verifying the account and then the account got hacked and all my Instagram posts were deleted,” she said in her written complaint.
Urmila also urged other women to not take cyber crimes lightly!
