Looks like all is not well in the world of Bollywood’s beloved star Govinda. After 38 years of marriage, his wife, Sunita Ahuja, has reportedly filed for divorce. And the reasons she has cited are serious… adultery, cruelty, and desertion.

According to reports, Sunita filed her petition under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, at the Bandra Family Court. While she has been regularly attending hearings and even the court-mandated counselling sessions since June 2025, Govinda has not shown up in person. His absence has now led the court to issue him a show cause notice.

What makes this story even more surprising is that earlier this year in February, Govinda’s team had confirmed the divorce filing but also claimed that the couple had reconciled. Sunita Ahuja And Govinda Live Separately
Sunita admitted that she and Govinda were living separately, something she attributed to his professional commitments and, as she put it, his “talkative nature.” She also revealed that for the last 12 years, she had been celebrating her birthday alone.
For fans who have adored the actor for decades, the news is both shocking and heartbreaking. Govinda and Sunita married back in 1987 and went on to build a family together, raising two children, son Yashvardhan and daughter Tina.
