The patriotic drama recently turned into a huge box office triumph, crossing an impressive ₹463 crores worldwide. Fans expected Varun to jump straight into his next big project. But it looks like the actor might have other priorities right now.
According to a report by Filmfare, Varun is planning to slow things down for a bit and spend more time with his loved ones. A source close to the actor revealed,
“Varun Dhawan is taking a long break after the release of Border 2. He is keen on spending more time with his family, especially his daughter. He is eager to take the break to be with Lara.”
And honestly, fans seem to understand. The actor welcomed his daughter in 2024, and it appears he wants to soak in every moment of fatherhood. After back-to-back films, promotions, and hectic schedules, a family-first pause sounds pretty relatable.

But before fans panic, here is the good news. Varun is not disappearing from screens just yet. His next film, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, is already lined up for release. The romantic comedy features him alongside Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur and is directed by none other than his father, David Dhawan.
The film was initially scheduled to hit theatres on June 5 but has now been pushed to June 12. The reason? To avoid a box office clash with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups starring Yash, which releases on June 4.
So while Varun might take a short break soon, fans still have one fun, romantic entertainer to look forward to. And if the actor returns after some quality family time, he will probably come back even stronger!
