Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar share one of the strongest friendships in Bollywood.
Be it ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ or ‘My Name Is Khan’, KJO-SRK make for one helluva powerful director-actor combo!
But did you know there was a period when a rift developed between their bond? Apparently, the fallout was a result of KJO not casting SRK in his film.
In fact, he had even talked about this in his memoir ‘An Unsuitable Boy’. He had written, “Shah Rukh is a very possessive friend. I think I may have hurt him when I made a film without him. And I think I got hurt because when I did, I felt he didn’t give me that paternal or fraternal feeling that I had from him otherwise. I think we were two hurt friends for no reason.”
However, they buried the hatchet and reconciled at the Piku success party. All’s well that ends well, ehh?
Karan had also addressed his equation with SRK in the book – “If I asked you if you are sleeping with your brother, how will you feel? For me, no matter what ups and downs Shah Rukh and I have been through, he is a father figure, an older brother to me,” he had said.
