Pankaj Tripathi and Rasika Dugal played husband-wife in the popular crime-thriller webseries ‘Mirzapur’.
The Mirzapur duo is reuniting for another project if the latest buzz is to be believed.
As per Peeping Moon report, Pankaj and Rasika will be starring in the feature film ‘Sherdil’ – revolving around a man vs animal conflict. It’s being directed by Srijit Mukherji.
The report further said that the movie is allegedly inspired by a bizarre true event from 2017. Apparently, in a ploy to gain compensation from the government, local families near Pilibhit Tiger Reserve would send elderly family members into the forest as tiger preys! They would then relocate the dead bodies to the fields and feign it as a ‘tiger attack’.
Sherdil will be set against the backdrop of an Uttarakhand village and Pankaj will be seen as the Panchayat head ‘Gangaram’ who goes into the forest voluntarily to save his poverty-stricken family. Rasika will be again playing Pankaj’s wife. Neeraj Kabi is also said to star in a prominent role.
The project will take off in November-December this year.
