Late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande met on the sets of the television series Pavitra Rishta and fell in love. The two love birds immediately commenced a budding romance that began in 2010, for 6 years, before they called it quits in 2016.
Post the actor’s demise, Ankita was seen in a very unstable condition as she mourned him. The two had shared a very tight bond. Ankita had her Bollywood breakthrough with the film Manikarnika as she played the role of Jhalkaribai alongside Kangana Ranaut.
However, did you know that her real name is not Ankita but Tanuja? Ankita is merely a nickname that her near friends and family developed for her. Eventually, everyone called her Ankita and the name just stuck! She carried on with the name Ankita even into her career and that’s how she came to be known as Ankita Lokhande, and not Tanuja.
Ankita was also seen with Sushant Singh Rajput on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. It was during their break up that Sushant had then tweeted, “Neither she was an alcoholic nor I am a womaniser. People do Grow apart & it’s unfortunate. Period!!” which shut down rumours that sparked following their split.
