Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is at Arthur Road jail, Mumbai.
His bail application in the cruise ship drug bust case has been rejected twice. Mumbai Sessions Court has been hearing his plea now.
Advocate Amit Desai, who is representing Aryan, had previously argued, “The 13 gms of cocaine are not from Khan and neither are the ecstasy pills, mephedrone. Nothing is from him. He did not have cash. He did not have plans to consume or sell drugs.”
As per TOI, Aryan’s lawyer had also pointed out – “The fundamental argument is that there was a rave party. I (Aryan) was not found with anything. I cannot be held responsible. There is nothing on the phone about the messages about rave party.“
“This young man (Aryan) was overseas for a while. In those countries some times lot of things are legitimate.”
Aryan’s lawyers had also made their case stating that he had no criminal antecedents and was unlikely to abscond.
“The WhatsApp chats are extrajudicial confessions, which are weak kinds of evidence. Let’s not take away the liberty of the boy due to this. The court can impose conditions to make him available for investigation. It is a fit case for grant of bail,” Aryan’s lawyer concluded.
The court has reserved its order in the case and will pronounce the verdict after Dussehra on October 20. Looks like Aryan will have to remain in jail till then.
