After 20-long years, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are finally reuniting for the sequel to their 2001 blockbuster Gadar titled ‘Gadar 2‘.
Directed by Anil Sharma, who helmed the 1st part as well, ‘Gadar 2’ is produced by Zee Studios.
While Sunny is reprising the role of a truck driver Tara Singh, Ameesha essays the role of his wife Sakina. According to reports, the sequel will apparently feature the same characters with a 24-year leap.
As Pinkvilla reported, ‘Gadar 2’ is said to be set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war and will reportedly focus on the father-son bond – how far can a father go for his son?
As the report further suggests, Tara (Sunny Deol) will be going to Pakistan in the middle of this turbulent war to save his son, Jeete (played by Utkarsh Sharma).
“Gadar was an epic love story of Tara Singh and Sakeena during the partition era. With the sequel, the makers are taking a 24-year leap, as the story unfolds in the times of the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. While Tara Singh was in Pakistan to get Sakeena back in Gadar, this time around, he will be going to Pakistan in the midst of this turbulent war, to save his son, Jeete.”

For the unversed, ‘Gadar’ (2001) was an epic love story that was set against the backdrop of partition (1947).
