The drug angle of SSR Case saw another major development yesterday as Rhea Chakraborty was arrested yesterday.
She was arrested under various sections of the NDPS Act for procuring drugs for Sushant’s consumption.
Her bail application has been rejected and she will be sent to jail for 14-day judicial custody up to 22nd September. She had undergone medical test and was tested negative for Covid-19.
NCB Remand Copy
NCB’s remand copy states that Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant admit to receiving drugs for Sushant on both Sushant and Rhea’s instructions and how both of the paid for them.
No Mention of Consuming Drugs
The remand copy that the NCB filed before the court mentions that Rhea used to procure drugs but makes no mention of her consuming drugs.
The house help Dipesh Sawant who was also arrested by the NCB, in his statement said that after 2-3 days of his joining, he saw Sushant using Ganja (Charas) for first time in September 2018.
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty will now be sent to Byculla jail.
Indrajit Chakraborty Reacts
Rhea’s father Indrajit Chakraborty reacted after Rhea’s bail plea was rejected – “No father can bear injustice on his daughter. I should die.”
He also added that the entire country is hell-bent on sending Rhea to jail without any proof.
“Next act likely in sessions court on Thursday!”
As per News18, Sushant’s family lawyer Vikas Singh commented on Rhea’s arrest saying – “Drug charges are not our case against Rhea.”
