Storyline:
Hailing from a small town, Jayant Arkhedkar (Rajkummar) is an underdog who has made it to the top as a robotics expert.
He has it all – welcomed on the Board of Directors at a young age, with his fiancee being the CEO’s daughter, Niki Adhikari (Akansha). However, an affair with the seductive secretary Monica Machado (Huma) is on the verge of ruining it all, as she starts to financially blackmail him.
Meanwhile, Jayant finds out that the CEO’s son Nishikant (Sikander) (who hates his guts btw) along with the company’s accountant Arvind (Bagavathi) are also being blackmailed by Monica.
The 3 hatch a convoluted plan to murder Monica to escape this mess, but things don’t go quite as planned. Enter ACP Naidu(Radhika), who’s assigned to the murder case, grinning like a Cheshire Cat. But twist toh abhi baaki hai!

What Do We Think:
Vasan Bala’s thriller is a highly entertaining madcap journey from start to finish. Plot twists like jalebi! Interesting, open-ending climax keeps things fresh too…
From snake phobias, killer robots, femme fatales to a really wacky botched murder attempt, Monica O My Darling has got it all. There is one particular face-off between Huma and Rajkummar‘s characters that’s quite iconic.
The cast is jam-packed with talented actors and everyone brings their own zany energy to the part. Huma Qureshi steals the show in Monica O My Darling as the deliciously devious Monica! With expressive eyes, seductive smirks and a hidden vulnerable side, Huma’s Monica is a fascinating character indeed.
Rajkummar is a delight to watch as the outsider who’s made it to the top, willing to murder to stay in the game but still clinging to that last thread of morality. You will chuckle at his desperate, hare-brained schemes but still end up rooting for him.
Sikander Kher and Bagavathi Perumal are flawless in their roles as Rajkummar’s partners in crime. The trio’s panicky energy will keep you invested as they carry out their unnecessarily convoluted plan.
Radhika Apte as the chilled-out, quirky officer is just having FUN with her role and we are loving it too.
Overall, Monica O My Darling is a really fun watch backed with terrific performances! The cherry on the top is the Music and BGM by Achint Thakkar who’s done a commendable job with the title track without butchering the 80s vibe.
