Sadak 2 to Dil Bechara: 8 big films to directly release on Disney+ Hotstar in 2020.

After Gulabo Sitabo’s Amazon Prime release due to nationwide lockdown courtesy COVID-19, several other big Bollywood films are looking for a digital release rather than shelving them. We have a list of 8 films to be released on Disney+ Hotstar in the upcoming months.

1. Sadak 2

Sadak 2 is a romantic thriller film directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The film is the sequel to the 1991 film Sadak. The sequel stars Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film marks Mahesh Bhatt’s return as a director after 20 years. This movie is also special as the filmmaker will be directing his daughter, Alia Bhatt for the very first time.

2. Dil Bechara

Dil Bechara is the remake of popular Hollywood book & movie, The Fault in Our Stars. Directed by Mukesh Chhabra, the film stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi in the lead roles, while Saif Ali Khan will also play a pivotal role. This will be the last movie of Late Sushant Singh Rajput. 

3. Laxmmi Bomb

Starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the main lead, Laxmmi Bomb is the official Hindi remake of the Tamil film, Kanchana. The Hindi film is being directed by Raghava Lawrence, who also directed the Tamil version. In the horror comedy, Akshay will be seen playing the role of a transgender.

4. Shiddat

Marking the debut of Vicky Kaushal’s brother Sunny Kaushal, Shiddat is a quintessential Bollywood romantic drama movie. The movie also stars Radhika Madan, Diana Penty and Mohit Raina.

5. Mimi

Based on the sensitive topic of surrogacy, Mimi is a women-centric movie with Kriti Sanon playing the lead. It’s the official Hindi remake of the National Award winning Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy! (2011).

6. Bhuj: The pride of india

Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride of India is based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. In the film, the actor plays Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who played a pivotal role in the war. It also stars actors like Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharad Kelkar, Nora Fatehi, Ammy Virk and Pranitha Subhash.

7. The Big Bull

Starring Abhishek Bachchan, The Big Bull is produced by Ajay Devgn. The film is supposedly based on stockbroker Harshad Mehta, who has been accused of many financial crimes. Directed by Kookie Gulati, The Big Bull also stars Ileana D’Cruz.

8. Lootcase

Lootcase is a comedy film revolving around a red suitcase. Starring Kunal Kemmu and Rasika Duggal in the lead, the film was postponed multiple times, before it was announced to be released on April 10. But, since the theatres remained shut due to the lockdown, makers decided to postpone it no more and give it a digital release.
