Sushant Singh Rajput’s YRF contract details unveiled!

With the Mumbai Police probing all possible suspects in the high profile Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case, the Bandra police have taken statements from 27 individuals associated with Sushant. While questioning the YRF executives the officers acquired a copy of the contract signed between the actor and Bollywood’s biggest production house, Yash Raj Films. The contract reveals that the actor had a three-movie deal with the production house however, the third film, Paani, was shelved.

According to the contract, Sushant Singh Rajput and YRF had a three-movie deal. For Sushant’s very first movie Shudh Desi Romance, opposite Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor, he was paid Rs 30 lakh.

The contract stated that

  1. If his first movie will be a hit, Sushant would be paid Rs 60 lakh for the second film, and if the second film also turns out to be a hit, he would be paid Rs 1 crore for the third film.
  2. Whereas if the first film did not do well, then he would be paid ₹30 lakh for the second.
  3. If the first film was hit and the second film flopped, he would be paid ₹30 lakh for the third.
  4. If the first movie flopped and second did well, he would get ₹60 lakh for the third.
  5. The reports further added that YRF will decide if a film is either a hit or a flop.

Sushant was Paid Rs 1 Crore for Byomkesh Bakshy, ₹40 Lakh more than Contract

Sushant Singh Rajput’s first YRF movie, Shuddh Desi Romance was a hit! His second venture with YRF was Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, and not abiding with the contract he was paid Rs 1 crore for it directly.

However, when Mumbai Police questioned YRF about the same, they could not provide an answer to it.

The third film that Sushant Singh Rajput had signed with YRF was titled as “Paani”, under the directorial guidance of Shekhar Kapur. During the investigation, the YRF executives revealed that the movie was shelved due to creative differences between Aditya Chopra and Shekhar Kapur.

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide at his Bandra house on June 14, 2020. Since no suicide note was found the Mumbai Police is diving into every possible aspect to solve the mystery behind the actor’s death.
