In the year 2012, Chopra Jonas made her big Hollywood debut with voicing Ishani from the Disney movie ‘Planes’. Following this milestone, she starred in ABC’s ‘Quantico’ in 2015. This beauty has ever since been making headlines, be it Bollywood or Hollywood.
It was in a general meeting with Jennifer Salke who is the head of Amazon Studios, that the idea of a multi-million dollar first-look television deal came in the picture. In an exclusive with Variety, Salke mentions, “Priyanka and I bonded over a shared passion for diverse global storytelling. Priyanka is drawn to exciting original content and characters that can resonate globally. She’s a powerhouse producer, and we are thrilled to collaborate with her for years to come.”
Priyanka’s production house Purple Pebble Pictures, is looking to develop a series of scripted and unscripted content in a two-year-long collaboration with Amazon Studios. They are set to explore different genres as part of this awaited experiment.
In a chat with Variety, Priyanka talks about Amazon being a great partner for her to unleash projects with that the audience will love. “My quest really is to be able to tell female stories, work with creators from around the world and create a cross-pollination of storytelling.
Amazon is such a great partner to do that because their reach and outlook is so global. My Amazon television deal is a global deal, so I can do Hindi language, I can do English language, I can do whatever language I want.”
Priyanka was already working with Amazon before striking the deal on two television projects; ‘Sangeet’ and ‘Citadel’.
