When Alia denied that Kjo and SRK helped her in getting the role in Dear Zindagi

The SOTY debutante Alia Bhatt has definitely made her mark in the Bollywood industry. Her exceptional performances in Udta Punjab, Highway, Raazi, Dear Zindagi, and many others have won the hearts of the audiences & critics.

With the sparked up debate on social media about the prevalent nepotism in Bollywood, an old video of Alia Bhatt has resurfaced where she is talking about replacing another Bollywood actress for a role in Gauri Shinde’s film Dear Zindagi.

The video was shared by a Twitterati replying to a tweet by Pooja Bhatt defending her family from the nepotistic comments making rounds on the internet. In the video, Alia Bhatt is in conversation with Rajeev Masand who asks her about how he heard that Karan Johar & Shah Rukh Khan had to convince the makers of the film Dear Zindagi to replace an earlier chosen actress with Alia Bhatt for the lead role.

Answering to Rajeev’s question, Alia Bhatt said, “That I don’t know about. I know that there was someone else on board earlier and then there was a conversation about maybe going to me and that’s all I know.”

According to rumors, it was actress Katrina Kaif who was earlier on board for the Gauri Shinde directorial, Dear Zindagi.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt also revealed how she called Kalank director, Abhishek Varman to consider her for a role in the film and she would be really upset if he didn’t.
