In regards to the Sushant Singh Rajput case, DCP Abhishek Trimukhe, Zone IX, updated that the Bandra police had recorded the statements of the three psychiatrists and one psychotherapist.
As per Zee News reports, Sushant had consulted all the three psychiatrists from November 2019 onwards. After being diagnosed with depression, Sushant was prescribed medicines which he discontinued after 2-3 months.
During interrogation, one of the psychiatrists revealed that Sushant was suffering from Bipolar Disorder, while the others said that he was under great stress. None of them were able to give a specific reason for his stress.
As per Midday reports, an officer on request of anonymity revealed that Sushant used to change his doctors after 2-3 visits and he hadn’t visited the 3 psychiatrists more than 3 times each.
The officer further stated that the doctor that Sushant last visited had given him some medicines for the disease he was diagnosed with but he took them for about two months. Due to lockdown, Sushant had consulted the psychiatrist over the phone but he did not follow his advice.
In November 2019, Sushant had also consulted a leading psychotherapist, a British national who practised in Mumbai. According to sources, he attended this psychotherapist’s sessions thrice.Â
In his statement to the Police, one of the psychiatrists said – “Such a disease requires proper medical attention and some medicines need to be taken for almost nine to 11 months. In some cases, they are required for a lifetime. But Sushant stopped taking the medicines when he started to feel better.”
