Rhea Chakraborty Not Absconding, Will speak with her if required – Patna Police

Sushant Singh Rajput case had a dramatic development recently with his father K.K Singh filing an FIR in Patna against Rhea Chakraborty and family, alleging abetment to suicide, cheating and conspiracy.

Speculations were rife that Rhea Chakraborty had absconded and was reportedly missing from her residence as the Bihar Police were on the lookout for her.

However, these reports were dismissed by Vinay Tiwari, Central Patna Superintendent of Police.

Talking to Midday, he clarified that the Bihar Police were not trying to trace Rhea as they’re still conducting a preliminary enquiry. The course of action would be decided after certain basic facts were investigated, post which they would get in touch with Rhea.

“Aisa kuch nahin hai. At this point, we are not even trying to trace Miss Chakraborty. Preliminary enquiry is underway. There are certain basic facts that are being investigated, following which we will decide on the course of action. As, when and if she is required, we will get in touch with her.”

Tiwari also specified that the investigation by the Bihar Police is independent of the one being carried out by the Mumbai Police.

Meanwhile, SSR family lawyer explained why the family took so long to file FIR. In a statement to ANI, Vikas Singh said that Mumbai Police wasn’t registering FIR but forcing the family to give names of Big Production Houses and taking the case in a different direction.

Rhea Chakraborty and family have been booked under IPC sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 306 (abetment of suicide).
