Our boy Badshah had released his second album on the 7th of August and the tracks are to die for. With the catchiest of tunes and the grooviest music to it, Badshah’s 2nd album – The Power of Dreams of a Kid – is a must hear!

Keep scrolling to know and understand the meaning behind each of these tracks.

1. THE POWER OF DREAMS FEAT. LISA MISHRA

This track on a young Badshah’s mother is everything. From describing the power of a mother’s love in all its truthfulness to the part where Badshah says, “SORRY GIRLS BUT THE ONLY TIME I REALLY MEAN IT IS WHEN I SAY I LOVE YOU MAA,” is just too perfect. The track ‘The Power of Dreams’ is all about the realest love offered only by a mother.

2. BKL

A super energetic comeback for the haters and trolls, Badshah goes all out and upbeat on his achievements, giving hustlers and dreamers something to hold their head up to while staying steady on the grind. This is his celebration and he establishes himself as the Fearless Great who got Rap into the Indian Mainstream.

3. HOT LAUNDE FT. FOTTY SEVEN, BALI

A groovy, clappy beat on this head bob inducing song for the ride home. Badshah collects the hot Laundas from Delhi, Fotty Seven and Bali to Up the GAME with naughty word play and lyrical skillset that is set to pioneer a subculture for the boys.

4. CLOUT

Clout is all in all the ultimate gangster track with it’s intense motivation clearly personifying the title ‘The Power of Dreams. The track clout is all about fame with dignity and Badshah’s peaks of his stardom. A rockstar like him gets all the clout and it is no surprise.

5. FOCUS

A downtempo melancholy rarely touched by Indian hip hop, Focus talks about how different perception is from reality. Being written about his swag to his cars to his decadent lifestyle in newspapers, what remains hidden from public eye are the sleepless nights and jet lagged days in studios, away from home and daughter and family and any loved ones at all. This is a cry for outsiders to Focus on the real things within beyond the superficiality that comes with being a public figure.

6. AITTHE RAKH FT. SIKANDER KAHLON

Another incredible Badshah track from his second album lifting up the king’s spirits and we love it. All about the most positive self pride and inspirational confidence, Badshah stuns us with his track Aithe Rakh.

7. GHAR SE DOOR

An introspective, quiet jam written on a long flight away from home, Ghar Se Door is an honest confession of the times one feels like walking away from this endless pursuit and struggles as he keeps moving further away from reality and himself.

8. Shuru

An Introduction to the Album – The Power of Dreams of a Kid, Shuru is a lyrical piece introducing the Album and Badshah’s story of a relentless pursuit of his dreams since the first time he wrote his first Rap and his teachers called him crazy to this day of being Badshah in spite of the trolling and judgement. He assigns all credit of achieving success to hard work and the importance of failure and negates the concepts of only-fate-matters.
