Bombay High Court has adjourned the hearing of bail pleas of Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik till tomorrow, 24th September, due to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, as per TOI and NDTV reports, Rhea has made some startling revelations in her bail plea!
“Chief Justice has declared holiday today for Bombay high court and today’s board will be taken up tomorrow ie 24th Sept,” Rhea’s lawyer had shared in a statement.
Rhea Chakraborty’s judicial custody has been extended till October 6. In her bail plea, she made the following points:
SSR Was The Only Consumer of Drugs; Used Rhea, Showik & Staff To Sustain Drug Habit
As per NDTV report, Rhea said in her bail plea that Sushant was the only consumer of drugs and that he was directing his staff members to procure his drugs. If he were alive today, he would have been charged for the consumption of small quantities, which is a bailable offence.
Rhea argued that it was “preposterous” that the “consumer of drugs”(Sushant) would have received a max punishment of up to 1-year jail, while she would be subjected to 20 years for having paid for the drugs on a few occasions.
Rhea also said Sushant took advantage of those closest to him; using her, her brother Showik and members of his household staff to “facilitate his own drug habit while ensuring that he did not leave a paper trail of his own in the form of any electronic evidence whatsoever”.
SSR Asked Neeraj To Make Ganja Joints 3 days Before His Death
Rhea stated that based on public domain info SSR had asked his cook, Neeraj, to make ganja joints and place them in his bedroom, 3 days before his death. She said that since Neeraj had verified that after Sushant’s death the box was found to be empty as all the doobies were consumed; it was clear from the evidence that only Sushant was the consumer of drugs.
She alleged that before they even met, Sushant was “in the regular habit of smoking cigarettes with ganja”, which he allegedly got into during “Kedarnath” shooting.
Rhea Slams Evidence Furnished By Prosecution
“The prosecution surprisingly has not disclosed a single phone call, mobile call, SMS, WhatsApp message or email of Sushant Singh Rajput as to how he procured his drugs for his own consumption, rather than blaming his entire staff, Rhea, and Showik,” the plea read.
She claims the prosecution case just rests on the fact that she allegedly bought drugs for Sushant.
“Apart from allegedly coordinating the purchase of drugs and occasionally paying for the said purchase, there is no other allegation, yet the prosecution is terming her alleged acts as ‘financing illicit traffic’,” says the bail plea.
Sushant Felt That His Sisters Were After His Money
As per TOI, Rhea’s plea mentioned that Sushant’s relations with his family were strained and his sisters left him at the “peak of his depression”.
Rhea stated that Sushant had been routinely contacting his family to inform them about his depression and other issues but they did not seem overly concerned.
In the 3rd week of November 2019, his 3 sisters came to Mumbai and informed him that they would be taking him to Chandigarh for further treatment. Rhea did not interfere with their decision, being relieved to see his family members finally take some interest in his well being and health.
However, on 26th November 2019, Sushant called Rhea and informed her that he would not be travelling to Chandigarh with his sisters as he doubted their motives and felt that they were merely after his money.
On that very same night, all 3 sisters left Sushant at the “peak of his depression”.
Sushant Said He Could Hear His Mother’s Voice
The TOI report also mentioned that her application said – “In June 2020, Sushant informed the Applicant (Rhea Chakraborty) that he could hear his late mother’s voice when no one was around. The Applicant was extremely worried by this revelation but fortunately, Sushant agreed to get help.”
