On account of Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, take a look at a throwback moment when on a 2004 Koffee With Karan interview, Shah Rukh Khan passed advice directed at Aamir Khan fans.
In 2004, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol had opened that season of the talk show Koffee With Karan. The rapid-fire round is a game which is widely loved by the audience and the celebrities are to answer Karan Johar’s set of questions rapidly.
One of the questions was ‘what would Shah Rukh tell Aamir’s fans?’ to which Shah Rukh had replied, “Guys, you got to find an icon that you can look up to.”
That’s when Kajol and Karan both broke out into fits of laughter, however, none of them questioned Shah Rukh for as to why he said such a thing. When asked what he would tell the fans of Salman Khan, he replied with, “God bless you.”
In 2008, Aamir wrote about Shah Rukh on his blog where he said, “I’m sitting under a tree, on the edge of a valley, approximately 5000 feet above sea level… Ammi, Ira and Junaid are by my side and we are in the middle of one of our favourite board games. Shahrukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for?”
Post this, there was a lot of rift between the fans of the two stars.
Later on, when asked about it, Aamir said that he wrote the blog piece in the hope that even Shah Rukh would laugh at it which to his relief, Shah Rukh did laugh at. The latter said, “I have never bothered about it because I also say a lot of things in fun and I think I am also may be stressing somebody else out. I don’t get stressed when friends pass comments like this. Actually I enjoyed it.”
