‘Dil Bechara‘ starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi had set a record for ‘the biggest opening movie ever’ on the OTT Disney+ Hotstar.

Now, the Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Laxmii’ has broken that record!

As of today Laxmii is the biggest opening movie on Disney+ Hotstar and the OTT is very pleased with the fans’ responses. With an Instagram post, Disney+ shared, “Laxmii becomes @akshaykumar’s biggest opening ever! Thank you all for making this happen.”

The movie Laxmii is a remake of the Tamil hilarious horror-comedy Kanchana. Interestingly enough, Kanchana starred Raghava Lawrence in it who directed Laxmii now making the movie his first Hindi directorial venture.

The film also got immense appreciation from transgender rights activist Laxmi Narayan who seemed to be ecstatic about the release.
