The cinemas have opened up at 50% post the Covid-19 pandemic and the filmmakers are still opting for a OTT release to avoid the losses.
After Sara Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan‘s Coolie No.1 decided to release on OTT, Rakul Preet Singh and Arjun Kapoor‘s Sardar & Grandson is next in line.
The film recently got the title and the shoot wrapped up a couple of months ago. The filmmakers are now looking to release it on OTT. The budget of Sardar & Grandson is of Rs. 30 crores, and the makers have apparently finalized the deal with Netflix as it would result in a better return of investment owing to the current scenario.
The movie is said to be about the love and bond between to different eras.
The movie also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and John Abraham in special appearances and is directed by debutant director Kaashvie Nair.
