Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming film Coolie No. 1 is a remake of the first version of the film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. In the new movie, the film stars Varun Dhawan beside Sara.
All set for a Christmas release, Coolie No. 1 has a problematic story as per netizens and Sara is defending it by asking audiences to keep an open mind.
“I’d urge people to watch the film with the honest intention with which it is told. There is a difference between what you say on Twitter, and what an entertaining comedy tries to say. If everybody [expects] everything to be politically correct, any scope of humour in our lives will be [lost],” Sara states as mentioned by a Peeping Moon report.
She then continues saying, “Of course, you can’t be demeaning. Govinda sir duping Karisma to make her believe that he is not a coolie, is funny. It’s not about him cheating. Ultimately, he falls in love with her, and that’s what most of us look forward to in life.”

Coolie No. 1 is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky and Deepshikha Deshmukh. It also features Rajpal Yadav, Shikha Talsania and Jaaved Jaaferi in important roles. The film will release on Amazon Prime Video on December 25.
