Forbes Asia has released a list highlighting 100 singers, bands, film and TV stars from across the Asia-Pacific region who have taken the digital world by storm with their social media presence.
Looks like it’s good news for Bollywood as 13 household names have popped up in the Forbes 100 Digital Stars list.
1. Amitabh Bachchan
A veteran of over 200 movies, as per Forbes Bachchan in May used his star power and 105 million social media followers to help raise $7 million for Covid-19 relief. Over his long career, he has held elected office and been the subject of at least 11 biographies.
2. Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar, one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actors, has over 131 million followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter according to Forbes. As a philanthropist, Kumar donated $4 million to COVID-19 relief and also participated in I For India, a global virtual fundraiser event.Â
3. Alia Bhatt
Part of a Bollywood family dynasty, Bhatt has appeared in 24 films and is one of India’s highest-paid actresses. With 74 million social media followers, this actress endorses at least 18 brands including Coca-Cola, Garnier and UberEats, and has started Coexist, an eco- and animal-focused website.
