Now, IMDb has released its Top 10 Indian Web Series list and the results will not shock you.
As per Peeping Moon, talking about the top 10 Indian web series, Col Needham, IMDb Founder and CEO, told, “Worldwide interest in Indian streaming series hit an all-time high this year, and fans once again turned to IMDb to rate their favourites and help others discover these breakout shows. In fact, our #1 user-rated Indian web series of this year, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, has been so popular that it landed a top spot on the IMDb list of the Top 250 TV Series of all-time.”
1. Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story
Set in 1980’s and 90’s Bombay, Scam 1992 follows the life of Harshad Mehta – the infamous “Bachchan of BSE”. It was a rags-to-riches story till financial journalist Sucheta Dalal exposed Harshad as the man behind India’s biggest financial scam. Harshad eventually died in custody.
2. Panchayat
Panchayat is a 2020 Indian comedy-drama web television series that premiered on Amazon Video on 3 April 2020. Produced by The Viral Fever, the series chronicles the life of engineering graduate who joins as a Panchayat secretary in a remote village Phulera of Uttar Pradesh due to lack of better job options.
3. Special OPS
Special Ops Is an Indian espionage thriller series created by Neeraj Pandey for Disney+ Hotstar’s label Hotstar Specials with Kay Kay Menon leading the cast. Neeraj Pandey along with Shivam Nair directed the series.
4. Bandish Bandits
The series is about two singers who have contrasting personalities set out on an incredible journey of self-discovery with one another.
5. Mirzapur
Mirzapur is an action crime thriller web television series on Amazon Prime Video produced by Excel Entertainment. The series is primarily shot in Mirzapur, with some shots in Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Lucknow, Raebareli, Gorakhpur and Varanasi. It revolves around drugs, guns, murders and lawlessness.
6. Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side
Asur is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language crime thriller web series based on True Detective, produced by Tanveer Bookwala of Ding Entertainment for the video on demand platform Voot. The series stars Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti. The series is set in current times and revolves around serial killings.

A cynical inspector is tasked with investigating a high-profile case which leads him into a dark realm of the underworld.
8. High
Shiv Mathur is an addict and eventually finds himself in a rehab facility. The rehab is run by people who are working on a mysterious compound. This magical pill seems to have an edge above all; but is this miracle drug worth dying for?
9. Abhay
Abhay is a ZEE5 Original Indian Hindi-language crime thriller web series. Produced by B. P. Singh under Fiction Factory Productions, and directed by Ken Ghosh, the series marks the digital debut of Bollywood actor Kunal Khemu, who stars alongside Elnaaz Norouzi, Sandeepa Dhar and Namit Das.
10. Aarya
Aarya is an Indian crime drama web television series co-created by Ram Madhvani and Sandeep Modi based on the Dutch drama series Penoza by Pieter Bart Korthuis for Hotstar’s label Hotstar Specials starring Sushmita Sen in the titular role.
