The ‘Padmavat’ actor is now gearing up for his next release ‘Jersey’ and soon will start shooting for his web debut in Raj & DK’s upcoming Amazon Prime series.
Now, PeepingMoon has revealed that the actor has bagged another big project. Shahid will reportedly be seen playing Karna in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Mahabharata’ adaptation.
“Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has always wanted to make a film on Karna. It’s a subject he has been toying with for a long time but couldn’t give it a shape due to the budget and scale it requires. With Ronnie Screwvala coming on board as producer, and Shahid Kapoor leading the cast, Mehra is now all set to liven up his passion project,” a source revealed to the portal.
According to the reports, it is still unclear whether the film will be a modern contemporary adaptation or will stick to its original mythological plot.
As per Bollywood Hungama, this movie will reportedly be based on the point of view of Shahid’s character, Karna, the spiritual son of Surya and a loyal friend to Duryodhana.
While the shooting schedules for the ‘Mahabharata’ adaptation haven’t been locked yet, this movie is expected to go on floors towards the end of this year.
Being produced by Ronnie Screvwala, this project is tentatively titled ‘Karna’ and is said to one of the most billed projects of the ‘Jersey’ actor.
