After Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are all set to collaborate again.
Ajay will be playing an important cameo in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ which stars Alia Bhatt as the mafia brothel queen of Kamathipura.
As per a Peeping Moon report, Devgn will be seen in the role of dreaded mafia don – Karim Lala. He will commence shooting for his portion during Feb-end at Film City Studio and has reportedly allotted 10-12 days for the same.
“Ajay Devgn plays the role of dreaded Karim Lala who was the godfather of Bombay’s Pathans, one of the three legendary mafia dons including Haji Mastan and Varadarajan Mudaliar who ruled the city between the 1960s and 1970s. He taught Gangubai the tricks of the trade and played a major role in her rise as a legend in Mumbai’s streets, lanes and back-alleys.
Ajay’s character is not a typical cameo but rather an extended cameo appearance that holds an important place in the film’s storyline. He is said to have allotted 10-12 days to film his portions that mostly includes the intense talkie portions with Alia,” a source revealed to the portal.
Gangubai & Karim Lala:
It has been said that Gangubai had been brutally raped by a member of Karim Lala’s gang. She had then approached Karim Lala for justice and he had not only beaten up her tormentor but also declared her to be his ‘rakhi sister’. After that, her life flourished as she made connections with the underworld, police and other figures of power!
Gangubai Kathiawadi is expected to wrapped up by mid-March; Alia is currently completing two grand dance numbers.
